A New Unique Entertainment and Activity Venue in Washington

A New Unique Entertainment and Activity Venue in Washington

Washington D.C. is having its moment in the sun. No, we’re not talking politics here, but rather the supreme growth in new businesses and real estate development. Why should event planners care about such things? The latest developments are also new potential event venues. You just have to look at them from a creative angle.

Case and point: Squash On Fire. This new eight-court, no-membership-needed squash facility derives from the owners’ love of the game and want to make it accessible to the masses without the ties to a fancy club membership.

The inherent activity is ideal for team building events, while the additional entertainment spaces lend themselves to post-game refreshments, cocktails parties, holiday parties, or other special events that need a more modern venue.

Designed by award-winning architect Enrique Norten of TEN Arquitectos, the venue features modular architectural elements with accompanying furniture from Vitra. Colorful lighting by Ingo Mauer adds to the futuristic ambience of the multi-level space.

Event Spaces and Capacities

The bilevel space can host groups ranging from 40 to 400 across its two floors. Upstairs green patio can seat 40 for a meeting, lunch or dinner event or accommodate as many as 150 for receptions. Since all events needs a rain plan, the second floor indoor space can be used for groups of 75 or less. Full buyouts are available across both levels for groups of 120 seated or as many as 400 for receptions. The venue also features on-site catering for events courtesy of the Upper West Side Cafe.
