How to Quickly Create High-Impact Content with One Simple Tool
There’s no way around it: to succeed in today’s business world, you need to be doing content marketing, which includes social media and video content.
People want to see the faces behind the logos and employee candidates want to see the culture at a company before they apply. Both of those are showcased via content marketing.
There are a variety of reasons that may be holding you back from executing an effective content marketing plan.
A. Hate being on camera
B. Don’t know what to film or capture
C. Have no idea what you’d say in a video
D. Don’t have time
All of these are perfectly legitimate feelings and I am not going to sit here and tell you that you have to do a direct-to-camera video. I mean, it will definitely help you, but it’s not a requirement for good content marketing.
What is a requirement is actually quite simple: having content to utilize. In order to have that, we must capture it and this simple, easy solution is going to blow your mind.
The Simple Tool That Makes it Easier (and Faster)
The fastest way to get content captured without the stress of staring at camera and wondering what to say, or having to book hours of recording time in your schedule is this:
Yes, it’s really that simple. This is the most overlooked way to capture content without stress OR needing others to help you.
Before I go into the many ways this can be utilized across different service industries, let me start by reminding you that nothing has to be posted in the exact moment it’s captured. NOTHING!
Capture now, share it later when you have more time and/or send to your marketing team (🙋🏻♀️) so they can find the best way to use it across your website, blog, ads, or social media profiles.
How To Capture Content Faster
Now I’m going to share a variety of reasons I hear as to why capturing content is so hard AND the way a tripod will help make it easier.
Reason: I’m a solopreneur so I don’t have anyone to take photos or videos of me.
Solution: Setup your phone on a tripod, flip the camera to selfie-mode and:
→ Start a video and go about your day at your desk or in your office to capture b-roll content.
→ Use the timer setting on the camera to frame your photo and stage your own brand shoot
Reason: I’m out on job sites with my [insert home service business] so I can’t just take photos or videos when I’m working.
Solution:
→ Take a “before” photo of the issue/situation when you arrive.
→ Setup your phone on a tripod on a nearby counter, truck, ground, etc
→ Start the timelapse video feature and get to work.
→ When you’re done, take an “after” photo for the thumbnail (YouTube/website) or cover image (Instagram Reel/TikTok).
Result: a very cool beginning-to-end video demonstrating (not just you saying) how good you are. The results literally speak for themselves.
Reason: I’m an event pro trying to manage 10,000 things on-site to ensure a smooth event. I don’t have time to stop and take photos.
Solution: Follow the same instructions as above for the home service business.
Reason: I’m an event planner who gets professional photographers to take pics at all my events. I don’t need to do this.
Solution: While professional photographers are ah-mazing, they also take time to edit and send photos post-event. The tripod solution eliminates the need to hold up your marketing while you wait for pics of your work.
Plus, people want to see how you got from the “before” of the venue to the final result.
The tripod video capture or photos gets you the immediate gratification of content to be used in the week following the event AND the “how the sausage is made” view for your community that we’re always eager to gobble up.
The Bottom Line
Capturing content does not have to be a stressful situation, but it really does need to be part of your marketing plan. The more you can SHOW people what you do and how well you do it, the less you need to tell them because the proof is literally in the pudding.
Demonstrating your value will always be the most effective way to convey it.
